Who We Are
The Philosophy
We believe that operational health is a form of fuel. When your internal systems are clear and connected, they don't just "work"—they provide the energy and the confidence to take your mission further than ever before.
The Work: Turning Ambition into Action
For twenty years, I have worked at the intersection of bold thinking and the practical steps it takes to make things happen. I focus on the "how"—the internal structures, funding requirements, and team workflows—so that nonprofit leaders can stay focused on their "why."
I founded Ehlevation because I believe a great mission deserves a great engine. My goal is to help you build an organization that is as capable as it is ambitious, turning your daily operations into a foundation for long-term growth.
Founder and Principal
Gretchen Ehle is a strategic leader who has spent two decades navigating the complexities of the global nonprofit sector. Her career is defined by a unique ability to take high-stakes policy initiatives and turn them into sustainable, implemented programs.
Her capability is built on a foundation of significant organizational transformations. During her tenure at the Atlantic Council, Gretchen oversaw the finance and revenue initiatives for the global organization, modernizing internal structures and growing international government partnerships to expand their regional policy impact. Previously, at Meridian International Center, she transformed a major division by diversifying revenue streams and strengthening the operational technology that supported hundreds of international programs across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Gretchen’s strategic eye is sharpened by a deep academic background in policy and international affairs. She holds a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy and completed doctoral work (ABD) in Public Policy at George Mason University. This blend of academic rigor and "in the trenches" experience—including her service as a Board Treasurer for Atlas Corps and a Director for Cultural Vistas—allows her to offer a perspective that is both visionary and deeply practical.
Today, through Ehlevation, Gretchen partners with nonprofit founders and executive teams to build healthy, high-performing organizations. She believes that when an organization is healthy on the inside, it becomes a force of nature on the outside.
